Screw this (arbitrary) 3 stages of a project. Think of a project as a 1 stage endeavour. You know an extension is inevitable. So don’t expend any effort towards any project till that extension comes through. There’s no way the entire college is going to be denied (at least one) extension, in the present dispensation. Do whatever you want till the deadline (such as all the things Sarangan missed out on). Then work on your project, taking into account the duration of the extension given. This means that every week of college life is available to you to do what you want, till the original deadline. You only have to budget for the interregnum between deadlines.

As a member of the batches from the very first years of NLS, I have had instances of students NLS on recruitment turning out to be quite disastrous at quite basic things like punctuality, sincerity, dedication, commitment and respect, while they were brilliant at the capability and legal knowledge. I do believe that achivements in any batch, irrespective of the year of passing is quite individual and based on their own hard work. However, the edge of NLS as being a first mover has now become quite jurassic and students from other NLUs come with better practical knowledge and work experience making them a easier crop to integrate easily. It is getting increasingly better and I do feel that the present students need to reboot their psyche and work harder, pay attention to the new impressions decision makers have. I would say there are now as many partners from NLS as from other NLUs in the last few years, while the overall NLS partners may still be higher owing to the fact of having been the first mover. My belief in NLS is not shaken, but the commitment from the students has deteriorated. It is oronic that in the first years when we had visiting experts from outside of India, the audi would have people standing while today there is a struggle to make 30-40 attend a committed course. I hope NLS continues to high and students realise the dwindling advantage that is enjoyed by those from NLS.
